Wednesday, January 29th, 2025 -- 4:00 PM
(Mike Leischner, WSAU) A 26-year-old has been arrested in connection with the death of his father nearly four years ago.
According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Police in Nekoosa arrested Jason Tourtillott on Tuesday for one count of first-degree homicide. Officers believe he killed Thomas Tourtillott on July 22nd, 2021.
Jason is being held in the Wood County jail on a $1 million cash bond. Court records indicate an arrest warrant was issued for him Tuesday morning. He was in custody by about 1:30 PM.
Thomas was found dead in his home after a report of an unresponsive person. Evidence at the scene suggested foul play and officers immediately named Jason as a person of interest.
It’s unclear what evidence led them to issue a warrant. His next court appearance is February 17th for a preliminary hearing and arraignment where he will enter a plea to the charge. He faces a mandatory life sentence if found guilty.
