Marathon County Sheriff’s Department Congratulates an Employee on his Retirement

Last week, the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department wished farewell to a long-time member of their Office.

Corrections Officer Shawn Blaschka began his career with the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office on April 16th, 1998. After nearly 27 years of service, Shawn made the decision to retire on January 2nd, 2024.

Shawn began his career in the Juvenile Secure Detention Facility before transitioning to the adult jail. Shawn’s invaluable knowledge and experience will certainly be missed.

Shawn was known for his close attention to detail and often took care of many of the tedious tasks that improved the workplace for his co-workers and quality of service they provide the inmates.

They wish Shawn the best and hope he enjoys many years of retirement with his family and friends. They thank him for his service.
