The Marshfield School Board approved the open enrollment designation of spaces at their meeting on Wednesday.

This is done every year. The Board also approved the administrator contract renewal for the District. The Board also approved student travel to New York City in June 2026 with expenses for teacher chaperones covered by fees collected for participating pupils pursuant to travel agency guidelines.

The Board also approved several gifts and donations including $500 from Michael & Anne Schmidt through the Marshfield Area Community Foundation for HOSA-ILC Conference.

Also, $2,000 from Derek and Nicole Blanchard for AP testing fees. To Madison Elementary, plush animals and sweatshirt valued at $50, $200 from the PTO for Grade 6 Track & Field Day, and $250 for the Art Club from Coffee Cabin.

For Washington Elementary, $200 from the PTO for Grade 6 Track & Field Day. For Lincoln Elementary, $300 for students’ needs, $200 from the PTO for Grade 6 Track & Field Day, and $250 for the Art Club from Coffee Cabin. For athletics, $1,000 from Derek and Dakonya Freis for Boys Basketball.

The Board also approved a resignation and a new employee. During the Superintendent’s Report, he provided a reminder of no school on January 20th, registration for the next school year, open enrollment, and the District’s continued participation in the Let’s Keep Talking Program.

During the Communications portion of the meeting, they heard a complaint about a Board member from one resident and another resident encouraged board members, and any future board members running for election, to make sure they support the District’s students and keep the best interest of the Marshfield District to heart.
