Wood County Home Buyers and Sellers Saw Lower Prices in October

(USA TODAY Network) -Newly released data from Realtor.com for October shows that potential buyers and sellers in Wood County saw lower home sale prices than the previous month's median of $240,000.
According to USA TODAY Network, the median home sold for $219,950, an analysis of data from Realtor.com shows. That means October, the most recent month for which figures are available, was down 8.4% from September.
Compared to October 2023, the median home sales price was up 16.7% compared to $188,500. Realtor.com sources sales data from real estate deeds, resulting in a few months' delay in the data.
The statistics don't include homes currently listed for sale and aren't directly comparable to listings data. Looking only at single-family homes, the $224,900 median selling price in Wood County was down 8.2% in October from $244,900 the month prior.
Since October 2023, the sales price of single-family homes was up 18.4% from a median of $190,000. No single-family homes sold for $1 million or more during the month.
Condominiums and townhomes decreased by 36% in sales price during October to a median of $120,000 from $187,500 in September. Compared to October 2023, the sales price of condominiums and townhomes was down 14.3% from $140,000.
No condominiums or townhomes sold for $1 million or more during October. In October, the number of recorded sales in Wood County rose by 21.2% since October 2023, from 66 to 80. All residential home sales totaled $17.9 million.
Across Wisconsin, homes sold at a median of $299,114 during October, down 0.3% from $300,000 in September. There were 4,815 recorded sales across the state during October, up 4.6% from 4,605 recorded sales in October 2023.
