Congratulations to Wausau Officer Dennis Peterson, Detective James Martin and Officer Jena Zinkowich on achieving their two-stripe milestone, signifying 10-years of law enforcement service.

Officer Peterson joined Wausau PD in 2015, coming to us from a previous career with Probation/Parole. Officer Peterson currently serves as a Field Training Officer and K-9 Handler in our Wausau Police K-9 Unit, assigned to K-9 Max.

Detective James Martin joined Wausau PD in 2015. He previously served as a Reserve Deputy with the Marathon County Sheriff's Office. He previously worked as part of our Victim Resource Unit and was promoted to the rank of Detective in January 2020.

Officer Jena Zinkowich joined Wausau PD in 2015. Beside her duties as a Patrol Officer, she also serves as a Field Training Officer and part of our Honor Guard and Peer Support teams.

Background of Service Stripes: For every 5 years of law enforcement service, we present our staff with a gold service stripe to be worn on their long-sleeve uniform.

Service stripes are small, but each stripe is significant and symbolizes a tremendous amount of positive impacts each officer has made in our community.
