Colby-Abbotsford Police Department in the Process of Adding a Therapy Dog

The Colby-Abbotsford Police Department is excited to announce that they are partnering with Blueberry Cottage Labradoodles (www.blueberrycottagelabradoodles.com) and are in the process of adding a therapy dog to the department.

Blueberry Cottage Labradoodles generously donates therapy dogs to public safety departments. Their therapy dog will be a highly trained and compassionate canine who will provide emotional support in several key areas, such as: School Support, Officer Support and Sensitive Interviews.

These dogs, with specific training for these types of roles, have made a positive impact in numerous departments in Wisconsin already. While the donation of the dog is a significant step, the Department is seeking additional support from the community to help cover the ongoing costs of feeding, medical services and specialized training that will ensure the therapy dog is equipped to support both officers and the community.

These resources are essential to making this program a success and allowing the Department to provide long-term assistance to those in need.
