Wednesday, June 30th, 2021 -- 12:01 PM
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office welcomes the newest jail deputy, Jim Matti.
Jim, from Humbird, was asked a few questions to help the citizens of Clark County get to know him better. If you see him, make sure to give him a big welcome.
Jim said he applied for the position at the Clark County Sheriff’s Department because it was a great opportunity to get back into the "security" side of employment, which he had been doing previously in his career with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
He said, the Sheriff's Office offers excellent benefits, pay, and importantly, nice and close to home. Some of Jim’s interests include being outside. He likes to go camping, fishing, hunting, and especially traveling, getting to see mother nature and how beautiful the United States really is. Recently, he went out to Maine and had fresh Maine lobster.
Some skills and talents Jim brings to the department includes adaptability and versatility. He feels he can be placed into almost any position he’s needed. He’s a huge team player, and the Clark County Sheriff's Office has a great team. He’s also very driven, with a strong work ethic.
As for his 5-year plan, even after that time, he feels won't be able to learn everything, because there is so much to learn and do every day on the job. He wants to learn as much as he can, and evolve with the position to become the best deputy he can.
His end-game is definitely to do his best, work his way to day shift, and help the team.
