Greenwood School District's Santa Project

The Greenwood School District is doing their Santa Project again this year.
This project ensures that all students in the Greenwood School District will receive one Christmas present during the holiday season, just before the students are dismissed for Christmas break.
Jenny Mayenschein, the Greenwood Middle/High School’s Dean of Students and Athletic Director said, “With well over half of our student population being economically disadvantaged, and knowing that the holiday season can be a little rough for some, we wanted to try and maybe bring a little joy that last day of school before we head to break.”
The District puts out a letter, and uses word of mouth, looking for donations to help fund this. “It’s purely all funded from donations, whether it be businesses or individuals. So, that’s what makes it another wonderful thing. The generosity of the community and other outlying businesses is amazing, especially this time of year.”
The District typically sends out a letter asking for donations at the beginning of November and they hope to have everything in by that last week of school in December, so they can get all the gifts wrapped and ready to go before Christmas break.
If you’d like to donate towards the project, you can contact the High School at 715-267-6101 and let them know you want to help out with the project.
