Neillsville School Board Approves Many Items in Preparation for Next School Year

The Neillsville School Board heard a couple presentations to start their meeting.

Representatives from Wendel Companies presented revised designs for the high school entrance remodel. Lance Gregorich from CESA 10 provided an update on prioritizing building repairs and upgrades.

The Board also approved the purchase of a lawn tractor with attachments from Tractor Central in the amount of $30,550.  The Board also approved the Achievement Gap Reduction Report as presented, approved the Shared Space Agreement with Family Innovations for 2021-2022 as presented, and approved the Memorandum of Understanding with Head Start as presented.

The Board also approved the 2021-2022 Academic Standards and Educational Options as presented, approved the early graduation request from four students as presented, and approved the WASB membership renewal as presented.

The Board also approved the WIRSA membership renewal as presented, approved the WAEF membership renewal as presented, approved the elementary school student handbook for 2021-2022 as presented, approved the middle school student handbook for 2021-2022 as presented, and approved the high school student handbook for 2021-2022 as presented.

The Board also approved setting a temporary Fund 10 budget for 2021-2022 of $11,398,067, approved setting Citizens State Bank, Associated Bank, Unity Bank, and Simplicity Credit Union as the official depositories for the 2021-2022 school year as presented, and approve authorizing District Administrator John Gaier to make investments for the 2021-2022 school year.

The Board also approved the two foreign exchange student applications for 2021-2022, approved a monetary donation from the Neillsville Booster Club for the use of a motor coach, and approved a monetary donation from Neillsville High School coaches, athletes, and parents for the use of a motor coach.

In employment matters, the Board approved the resignation of Krista Hamm from her teaching assistant position, Kayla Harder from her second grade teaching position, Jennifer Lindner from her first grade teaching position, Melissa Strangfeld from her middle school track coaching position, and Joe Bethea from his assistant football coaching position.

The Board also approved the hiring of Brooke Hainz for a teaching assistant position, Kandice Schoolmaster for a teaching assistant position, Ashley Holland for a teaching assistant position, and Duane King for the athletic director position.

The Board also approved the leave of absence for Kelsey Klein as presented, approved the bonus pay for teaching assistants as presented, and approved the bonus pay for hourly coaches as presented.

The Board also approved the Memorandum of Understanding for Jeff Hanson as presented and for Jodi Stokdyk as presented. The Board also approved support staff handbook revisions as presented, approved supervisory and confidential staff handbook revisions as presented, and approved the certified staff handbook revisions as presented.

The Board also approved the initial adoption of Policy IGBCB, the initial adoption of Policy DEC, the initial adoption of Policy DEC-A, the initial adoption of Policy DEC-B, the initial adoption of Policy DJA, the initial adoption of Policy DJC, the initial adoption of Policy DJF, the initial adoption of Policy GBCA-A, the initial adoption of Policy GBCA-B, and the initial adoption of Policy GBCA-C.

Finally, District Administrator John Gaier reported on the 2021 construction schedule, the summer cleaning schedule, the district’s social media report card, CESA 10 Board of Control Annual Meeting, a thank you from Marshfield Clinic Health Systems Foundation, district COVID statistics, free Clark County vaccine clinics, a CDC report on vaccination rates, new revenue opportunities, a thank you note from Britney Lowry, and summer school enrollment.
