Wood County Increasing Enforcement of Speed, Seatbelts, and Reckless Driving

The Wood County Sheriff’s Department, along with many Wood County Law Enforcement Agencies, will mobiliz for speed, seatbelt, and reckless driving enforcement with zero tolerance throughout the summer.

These offenses are to blame for the majority of traffic related fatalities. Over the last three years, within Wood County, there were a total of 742 speed related crashes reported, resulting in 4 fatalities and 260 injuries.

Enforcement will be directed on all state highways in Wood County and Highway 10.  The enforcement will occur during high traffic times. All Wood County agencies are reminding motorists to slow down, buckle up, and help make summer travel safe for everyone in Wisconsin.
