Monday, November 18th, 2024 -- 2:01 PM
As a part of the Clark County District Attorney’s Office, the Victim Witness Coordinator’s Office received a $1000 grant from the Wisconsin Victim Witness Professionals Association.
These funds have been allocated for the use of improving the waiting room that is used for both victims and witnesses. The intention of the room is to ease fears and anxiety of the victims as they wait during trial proceedings, hearings, and meetings with the district attorney and victim witness coordinator. It provides safety and security as it is located behind a locked door.
This room is utilized by children and adults. Some of the things that will be purchased will help them have remote access to the court proceedings or allow them to testify remotely when approved by the court. Other items this grant will cover includes toys for children and comfort items for all.
