Marshfield News Bites: Council Preview, Budget Hearing, Voter Turnout

Some Marshfield news:

Due to repairs, the road between sections O and P in Hillside Cemetery will not be accessible until Friday, November 15th. Also, the Marshfield Common Council will meet at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall tonight.

A few main discussion topics are, the Council will vote whether Scott Koran, 2500 S. Oak Avenue, will take over as District 5 Alderman to finish the term of former Alderperson Ed Wagner.

A request to authorize a volunteer group from MACCI Leadership Marshfield Class of 2025 to raise money for the Griese Park playground and work with Parks and Recreation staff and the Marshfield Area Community Foundation. And a recap of the November 4th election by City Clerk Jessica Schiferl.

Also, Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 6:00 pm at City Hall, a public hearing on the 2025 proposed budget for the City of Marshfield will be held.

The proposed budget is available for public inspection at City Hall from 7:30 a.m. t o 4:30 p.m., Monday - Thursday. 7:30- noon on Friday. Finally, the City of Marshfield saw record turnout.

Voter turnout for the fall election was 10,307, or 98% of registered voters in Marshfield. In 2020, it was 92%, and in 2016, it was 88%. They had 2,477 in-person absentee ballots and 1815 mail-in ballots returned before Election Day.
