A former Norwood Health Center employee was sentenced Friday in Wood County Circuit Court to nine months in jail for stealing thousands of dollars from the health center's residents. The Marshfield News Herald reports that Dalton C. Connor, 32, of Stevens Point, pleaded guilty Sept. 18 to six counts of misappropriation of identification. As part of a plea agreement, six additional count of misappropriation of identification, four counts of theft in a business setting, one count of misconduct in office and three counts of money laundering were dismissed but considered during sentencing.
A presentence investigation recommended probation for the crimes, but Wood County Assistant District Attorney Austin Mogard asked for a prison sentence of three years. Wood County Circuit Judge Todd Wolf also ordered Connor to pay $28,637 restitution, write letters of apology to the victims and undergo any counseling deemed necessary.
