Marathon County Sheriff Warns of Scam Calls

The Marathon County Sheriff's Office has received multiple reports of scammers calling multiple individuals claiming to be a sworn members of the Sheriff's Office.

The scammers are claiming individuals owe money in order to avoid being arrested or a warrant being issued for their arrest. No representative of the Marathon County Sheriff's Office will ever immediately demand money from an individual over the phone.

Nor threaten anyone with the issuance of a warrant or arrest if money is not immediately paid over a phone.
