(Mike Leischner, WSAU) A Wausau man accused of having sexual contact with a three-year-old girl during a backyard cookout this summer appeared in Marathon County Court on Friday.
According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, investigators say Kristofor Rozner inappropriately touched the girl as she was inside the home, away from where others had gathered.
The investigation started after the girl complained of pain in her vaginal area, leading doctors to discover foreign particles inside her body. He’s also said to have threatened her parents if she told anyone about the incident.
Police connected Rozner to the party through social media photos from the event. Formal charges against him were filed back in September. He’s facing a charge of 1st degree child sexual assault - with a person under the age of 13.
During his arraignment on Friday, Rozner entered a not guilty plea to the charge against him. He is being held in the Marathon County Jail on a $50,000 bond. If found guilty at trial he faces up to 60 years in prison.
He’s scheduled to be back in court on November 12th and January 13th. A jury trial is scheduled for January 21st and 22nd.
