Reminder: The Highground Host Veterans Day Gathering in New Welcome Center on November 11th

On Monday, November 11, The Highground will host a Veterans Day Gathering at 1:30pm in the new Welcome Center.

The Highground is honored to have U.S. Army Staff Sergeant JT Savor present to share his story of service, the battle he endured with his “Soldier to Civilian transition” and the courageous acts of his service dog, Phoenix, who saved his life.

It was Phoenix’s heroic and loving actions that prompted some amazing people along with JT to start a charity for Veterans’ pets called Brodie’s Phoenix Fund.

JT’s new path guided him to work as a board-certified whole health coach and serve as the executive director for a local nonprofit. JT also volunteered as an ambassador for PTSD service dogs and created pathways for Veterans to be able to utilize them.

On September 21, 2024, JT placed a Military Working Dog Legacy Stone at The Highground in honor of Phoenix. Light refreshments will be available at the gathering while supplies last.

At 3pm, The Highground will host its annual Honoring Our Veterans ATV Raffle Drawing. Tickets will be on sale until 2:30pm.
