Wisconsin Sees Close to 40% Increase in Early In-Person Voting Over 2020

(Bob Hague, Wisconsin Radio Network) There’s been a nearly 40% increase in early in-person absentee voting over 2020.
According to Bob Hague with the Wisconsin Radio Network, Wood County Clerk and Wisconsin County Clerks Association President Trent Miner said that’s not surprising, since both political parties are encouraging people to vote early.
That’s going to mean a lot of absentee ballots, and local elections officials are prohibited from starting to count them until the morning of Election Day. Miner said that means we probably won’t know who won the presidential election in Wisconsin until some time the following day.
The clerks association supported a bipartisan bill to allow processing of early ballots to begin on Monday passed the state Assembly but failed to advance in the Senate.
