Earlier this week, a vehicle was stolen from the 500 block of North Broadway Street in Stanley.

The subjects involved in the theft later ditched the vehicle on East Tenth Avenue, east of North Franklin Street. The vehicle sustained significant damage after being stolen and was used to damage property in Chapman Park as it was driven on the pedestrian trail alongside the west side of the lake, striking multiple signs and posts along the learning trail.

They ask that anyone who may have seen this vehicle being operated at any point after 11:45pm Tuesday night or that may have information related to this case, to please contact the Stanley Police Department. They want to remind the public to remove valuables and keys from your vehicles and ensure that the door and windows are secured.

There have been numerous vehicle thefts throughout the Chippewa Valley over the past several months and doing these few things will significantly reduce your chances of being victimized.

You can also contact Chippewa County Crime Stoppers at 715-944-3949 or download the P3 Tips App. Remember, when using the P3 Tips app, you will remain 100% anonymous and may be eligible for a monetary reward.

Please do not text 715-944-3949 as the phone line does not have that capability.
