One Person Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash in Jackson County

(WEAU Staff) One person is dead and another person is hurt following a single-vehicle crash in Jackson County, according to WEAU staff.

According to a press release from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, on Oct. 21, 2024, at about 6:53 p.m., the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle crash on State Highway 108 in the Town of Melrose.

It was reported that a passenger car rear-ended a large grain truck and there were occupants pinned inside, the press release says. The driver of the car was found dead on scene. A passenger was taken by helicopter for further treatment.
