One Person Killed in Wood County Semi Accident

On October 21st, at approximately 1:05 p.m., Wood County Central Dispatch received the report of a one vehicle crash at the intersection of STH 54 and Cty Rd E in the Township of Hiles.

A semi was traveling eastbound on STH 54 negotiating a corner. The semi crossed the centerline and left the roadway. The semi overturned came to rest in the ditch on its roof.

The driver, and sole occupant, was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was identified as 56-year-old Steven Bork of Mondovi. STH 54 was closed for several hours due to the crash.

The crash remains under investigation. Wood County Deputies were assisted by Pittsville Police Department, Pittsville Ambulance & Fire, Wisconsin State Patrol and Wood County Central Dispatch.
