Around Three Dozen Marathon County Residents Receive Incorrect Ballots

(Mike Leischner, WSAU) Clerks from the Town of Stettin and Marathon County say around three dozen absentee voters received incorrect ballots, according to Mike Leischner with WSAU.
According to a letter signed by Kim Trueblood and Marlo Turner, the 33 ballots were printed with the 85th Assembly District race between Pat Snyder and Yee Leng Xiong.
Those voters actually live in the 86th Assembly District, a race between John Spiros and John Small. All impacted voters have been identified and sent corrected ballots. The letter instructs them to destroy the previous ballots if they still have them and return the correct ballot in the envelope marked with a “B.”
If they’ve already returned the incorrect ballot, the clerk has marked it with an “A” and will destroy it after receiving the corrected ballot, which is marked “B.” If the voter does not return the correct ballot but has returned the incorrect one, their votes will still count in every race except for the Assembly seat.
Trueblood says her office has conducted a full investigation and found no evidence that any other voter in Marathon County has received an incorrect ballot.
“We understand the concern this situation may cause. Rest assured, we have already consulted with the Wisconsin Elections Commission to ensure no other ballots were misprinted."
"We will continue to work to identify the source of the error on the original ballot and revise our processes, if necessary, to prevent additional occurrences in the future,” the letter says.
