Authorities want to take a closer look at a truck owned by a Wisconsin Rapids man accused of abducting, imprisoning and sexually assaulting two men in early July. They've begun procedures to seize the 1999 Ford F-150 owned by Edward J. Lanphear.
State statutes allow officials to seize any vehicle used to transport property or weapons used in the commission of a felony. Lanphear allegedly used his pickup to transport items used in the kidnapping of a then-21-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man.
Lanphear faces 13 felony charges with a combined maximum prison sentence of more than 400 years.
