Wisconsin Rapids Police Department Receives Canine Grant

The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department is pleased to announce that on Tuesday, October 8th, Chief Dan Hostens and Officer Lucas Krier of the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department attended a banquet dinner held in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, hosted by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Canine Handler’s Association.
At the dinner, the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department was awarded the first annual Canine Grant, up to $15,000.00, for the purchase of a police canine.
Officer Krier was recently selected as the next Canine Handler for the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department, filling the vacancy following the departure of Officer Jacob Paltz and Canine Kubo.
The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department will soon obtain a canine and identify a training course for the new canine team.
