This prestigious event will bring world-class competitors to Marathon County and generate significant economic impact for the region. The RSG grant program, offered by the Wisconsin Department of Tourism, is designed to help communities secure national and international competitive events by providing financial support for bids and event marketing.
The award to Visit Wausau will play a critical role in ensuring a successful and memorable experience for both participants and visitors attending the 2026 World Horseshoe Championship.
“We are honored to receive this grant, which reaffirms Wausau’s growing reputation as a premier destination for competitive sports events,” said Tim White, Executive Director of Visit Wausau. “This event will showcase our community to thousands of visitors, offering a unique opportunity to highlight everything that Wausau has to offer, from our vibrant downtown to our outstanding outdoor recreation facilities.”
