Marshfield School Board Discusses 2025-26 School Calendar
Thursday, October 10th, 2024 -- 9:00 AM
The Marshfield School Board had the first reading of the 2025-26 school calendar at their meeting on Wednesday.
No action was taken as it’s the first reading and it will be brought back to the November meeting. There are two calendar proposals for the Board to consider due to the bond referendum the District has on the November 5th ballot.
If the referendum passes, the District does have a calendar that would start and end the school year a week early to allow more time for crews to work on the schools.
If the referendum fails, or if it passes and the Board chooses to stick with the usual schedule, the other calendar would have the year start and end at the same times.
The final choice for the calendars would also depend on if the state Department of Public Instruction approves the District’s waiver to start and end earlier.
One Board member also had some other notes to consider regarding the calendar. The Board also approved some employment matters and a student trip to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis this month.
Finally, the Board approved several donations including $1,000 for Madison Elementary for student needs.; school supplies valued at $1,200 from Walmart in Marshfield;
$3,000 from Adam Stenavich for the Boys Basketball program; $100 from the Marshfield Area Community Foundation Sue Harrington Fund for the Cross-Country team;
$10 for Boys Soccer; $10 from Angie Kelnhofer for the Volleyball program; $10 from Kaden Reisner Family for the Football program; and $297 from Diane Meissner for the Football program.
