A former Dorchester Police Chief has been fired from his next job after being accused wrongdoing. The Village of Roberts is in St. Croix County near the Mississippi River.
The five-member Police Review Board fired Police Chief Ricci Prein last week after various allegations surfaced.
Prein, who is 51, allegedly gave special treatment to the owner of a bar where he drank after hours.
Prein allegedly told his officers to steer clear of the bar unless they received a citizen complaint.
Roberts officers and St. Croix County sheriff's deputies testified they had seen Prein in the LM Bar after the 2:30 a.m. closing time and on three occasions unsuccessfully tried to enforce state bar-closing laws.
Prein testified he was drinking root beer, not beer.
