Neillsville Police Chief Completes Wisconsin Department of Justice's First Line Supervisory Program

Neillsville Chief of Police Jim Mankowski attended and completed the Wisconsin Department of Justice First Line Supervisory Program, Class # 032, held for two weeks in September at the Stevens Point Police Department.
The First Line Supervisory Program is the first standardized statewide leadership and management training program for law enforcement. It provides baseline skills for current and developing organization leaders and is the foundation training course for the Career Development Programs of the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Training and Standards Bureau.
The class is an 80-hour course that is coordinated through the Training and Standards Bureau. The curriculum for this class is highly interactive and includes the following:
- Transitioning to the Role of Supervisor,
- Communication Skills,
- Internal Investigations,
- Leading Individuals and Teams,
- Culture and the Work Environment,
- Officer Wellness and Critical Incident Stress,
- Personal Leadership Development,
- Organization and Management,
- Writing Staff Reports,
- Crisis Leadership and Critical Incident Decisions,
- Media and Public Presentations,
- And Officer Involved Critical Incidents.
Chief Mankowski completed the Wisconsin Department of Justice First Line Supervisory Program, Class # 032, which took place over two weeks in September at the Stevens Point Police Department.
This program is law enforcement’s first standardized statewide leadership and management training program. It offers foundational skills for current and future organization leaders. It serves as the fundamental training course for the Career Development Programs of the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Training and Standards Bureau.
