Tomah Middle School Administrators Investigate Claim of Weapon at School; Found to be a Joke by a Student

On Monday, Tomah Middle School administrators were made aware of a possible weapon at the Tomah Middle School.
Upon investigation with the Tomah Police Department it was found that a student made up the report as a joke. There was no weapon at Tomah Middle School. The District said in a statement, “Please be assured that we take these reports seriously and implement appropriate consequences."
"We want to thank the students who reported this to the Tomah Middle School Office for investigation. Please talk to your children about the inappropriateness regarding making jokes around school safety.”
Tomah Area School District administration takes every report seriously. Thorough investigation of incidents are promptly conducted with the Tomah Police Department and other agencies. The safety and security of their students and faculty is a top priority.
