After Recent Incident, Wausau Police Department Encourages Those Thinking of Suicide to Seek Help

This past week officers with the Wausau Police Department responded to a call from an individual who was threatening to jump off a bridge and end their life.

Multiple officers responded and checked the downtown area where the person was believed to be, finding them sitting over the edge on the top floor of a parking ramp. Officers were able to quickly grab the person, bring them back to safety and subsequently get them to necessary services.

They thank this individual for having the courage to make the 911 call when they were in crisis. Suicide doesn't end the pain, it only ends the ability to recover from it. September is #NationalSuicidePreventionMonth.

Always remember there are so many people who are willing to help when you are in need.
