(Mike Leischner, WSAU) A Wausau man was sentenced for reckless homicide charges in connection with the overdose death of his girlfriend.
According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Andrew Washburn is said to have provided the woman with fentanyl-laced drugs, which the two ingested together last May while they were staying with family in a Wausau apartment.
Another woman called police after she heard "moaning" coming from the bathroom where the two were using. Officers administered life-saving measures, but quickly determined that the woman had died.
Washburn was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, 1st degree reckless homicide/deliver drugs, manufacture/deliver fentanyl, and bail jumping. Several other charges were dismissed and read in. He’s scheduled for sentencing on November 26th.
