(Mike Leischner, WSAU) The woman accused of killing Cindy Schulz-Juedes in her prison cell may be altering her plea for one count of intentional homicide, according to court records.
According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, attornies for Taylor Sanchez have requested a status hearing for a possible change of plea. the 29-year-old has pled not guilty to the charges, but prosecutors say they aren’t aware of any attempt to change that to not guilty because of mental disease or defect.
That hearing has been scheduled for October 18th in Fond du Lac County court. Sanchez is accused of killing Schulz-Juedes in the cell they shared at the state women’s prison in Fond du Lac County. Sanchez had recently stopped taking her medications and had been hearing voices again, including voices telling her to kill the 69-year-old.
A two-week trial remains scheduled for July 21st through August 1st, 2025. She faces an automatic life sentence if found guilty. Schulz-Juedes had just begun a life sentence for killing Ken Juedes in their home back in 2006. Court records show she was preparing an appeal at the time of her death.
