NEILLSVILLE MAN CHARGED WITH SISTER IN O.D. DEATH

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008 -- 8:53 AM

A Neillsville man has been charged in connection with an overdose death in Eau Claire.

24-year-old Zachary Shubert appeared in Eau Claire County Court Monday morning alongside his sister, 26-year-old Tiffany Shubert, who now lives in Eau Claire.

The two are charged with first-degree reckless homicide for supplying drugs to 30-year-old Lisa Gannigan, who was found dead at her Eau Claire home with a needle and syringe under her body that contained fentanyl and methadone.

According to the criminal complaint, one of Gannigan's friends knew she was using drugs purchased from Tiffany Shubert.

The two defendants have a preliminary court hearing scheduled for Aug. 5. Both were released Monday from the Eau Claire County Jail after Judge Paul Lenz agreed to allow them out on signature bonds.

If convicted, the Shuberts each face a maximum sentence of up to 25 years in prison.
