Wisconsin Rapids Police Department Responds to Lincoln High School After Concerning Social Media Post

According to the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department, around 10:45am on Wednesday, they were dispatched to the Lincoln High School to investigate the report of a concerning message that was posted to social media.
Due to the nature of the message, there was a large police response to assure the safety of the students. During the investigation, it was learned that the message originated from the State of New York and did not pertain to Lincoln High School. Law enforcement from the jurisdiction in New York were notified and they reported an investigation was already under way.
The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department was assisted by the Wood County Sheriff’s Department, Port Edwards Police Department, and Grand Rapids Police Department.
