NEW MANUFACTURER HAS NEILLSVILLE TIES

A company planning to launch a new brand in Neillsville has a long history; the brains behind the new brand have links to Neillsville.Mayville Engineering Company has been around since 1945. Last week, they announced their purchase of Fabricating Specialists.
Fabricating Specialists is the brainchild of Steve Donovan and Jim Grunewald, former managers of Fleetguard-Nelson Muffler.
Donovan served as the manager of the muffler plant in Neillsville.
"I held several positions with the old Nelson, which later became Fleetguard: sales account manager, cost estimator, I managed the old muffler plant through its closing. I moved to Green Bay and took on a position of operations manager," Donovan says.
He quit last May to concentrate solely on Fabricating Specialists.
Grunewald worked for Nelson for 17 years.
Over the years, Donovan says the two have seen things they believe can be done more efficiently.
"You learn some tricks. There are things that work well, there are some things you learn through trial and error don't work well," Donovan notes, "I think that's where we can be a good provider to this market."
Company officials hope to open the new facility by the end of August.
