Loyal Community Grateful for Support and Donations After Large Downtown Fire
Monday, September 16th, 2024 -- 2:00 PM
The Loyal Community is still reeling from the large fire that destroyed three downtown buildings late Thursday night.
However, the community is also very grateful for all of the support and donations they’ve received from individuals, businesses, and organizations in and around Clark County. Fire crews began battling the blaze just before 8pm on Thursday, which lasted into early Friday morning.
The fire destroyed three buildings with apartments and businesses including the laundromat, food pantry, and fitness center. Three families were displaced in the fire and the Red Cross is assisting them.
A fundraising account for displaced victims of the fire is set up at Citizens State Bank of Loyal called the Loyal Fire Fund. Crews from several departments battled the blaze including Loyal, Spencer, Greenwood, Granton, Colby/Abbotsford, and Owen-Withee.
There’s still no word on the cause of the fire.
