People were evacuating the house. Engine 3, Engine, 2 and Ambulance 95 responded immediately with 8 personnel. Upon arrival a large amount of fire was visible on the east side of the garage.

Flames were extending up the wall and into the attic. All occupants were confirmed to be out of the home. Fire crews made an aggressive fire attack to extinguish the fire and a search was done to confirm everyone was out of the home.

Additional staff was called in to re-staff the station. The fire extended into the attic and a box alarm was requested which provided assistance form Hewitt fire department, Central RIT (Rapid Response Team)/Rehab, Marshfield Utilities, and WE Energies.

A hole was cut in the roof to help remove smoke and hot gases. All fire damage was contained to the exterior and attic. Crews were on scene for several hours removing belongings prior to pulling down the ceiling of the garage to ensure all

Two occupants were displaced as a result of the fire. Fire investigators from the Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department determined the origin of the fire was on the east exterior of the garage with the cause remaining under investigation.

There was fire and smoke damage to the attic and garage and water damage to the first floor of the home and
basement. A preliminary estimate of damage is $100,000 to the structure.
