Wisconsin Rapids Man Sentenced for 2023 Standoff With Officers

A Wisconsin Rapids man arrested after a standoff with officers was sentenced in Wood County Court on Wednesday.
According to the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department, on Saturday, March 11th of 2023, officers made contact with a man, after receiving a report of a domestic dispute on the 2200 block of Carriage Court in Wisconsin Rapids. Officers made contact with Travis Drollinger and accused him of pointing a pistol in their directions.
A 10-year veteran with the Department discharged his weapon at Drollinger. Drollinger went inside the home and the standoff ensued for several hours. Drollinger later surrendered without incident and no one was injured.
At the end of June of this year, Drollinger pleaded guilty to 2nd-degree recklessly endangering safety and disorderly conduct. Several other charges were dismissed and read in. He was sentenced to 2 years in state prison and 4 years of extended supervision.
