This week the Red Letter Grant is announcing the hiring of their new Region 1 Program Director - Kate Felton.
Kate will serve Region 1, which includes Buffalo, Clark, Chippewa, Dunn, Eau Claire, Jackson, Pepin, Pierce, St. Croix, and Trempealeau Counties. Felton is a downtown Eau Claire small business owner, a former recipient of the Red Letter Grant, and a longtime supporter of the program.
Her role will be marketing the program to key stakeholders, building relationships with economic development professionals and administering the grant with a judging panel recruited from the region.
“I’m excited to welcome Kate to the team as we continue to support women in business throughout northwestern Wisconsin. Her lived experiences as a small business owner in this region uniquely sets her up to take on this role of helping other women achieve entrepreneurial success,” said Rebecca Cooke, Founder and Board Member of the Red Letter Grant.
“As someone who waited 10 years for enough resources to finally realize a dream of starting a small business, I know how important resources like the Red Letter Grant are for women entrepreneurs and to the economic development of our communities and state. It's an honor to be able to step into this role with an organization that has helped support dozens of women-owned businesses for the past eight years."
"I’m looking forward to carrying that work forward and being a small part of the stories of the brave women in business that we will serve in the coming years.” said Kate Felton, the new Region 1 Program Director.
