(Mike Leischner, WSAU) One of the three people charged in the death of Donald Mitchell has been found guilty of reckless homicide.
According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Arlin Sangster was found guilty on Thursday after a four-day trial. Jurors reportedly deliberated for less than two hours before making their decision. The trial began with jury selection on Monday.
Prosecutors reportedly rested their case on Wednesday, with Sangster’s defense taking less than a day to build their case. Sentencing has been scheduled for December 3rd. Sangster faces up to 46 years in prison.
Two other men are facing similar charges; Brandon Boehm and Christian Emerson. Boehm is scheduled for arraignment on September 3rd. Emerson has a motion hearing on October 9th before a week-long trial in late January.
Boehm reportedly testified during this week’s trial with the understanding that none of his testimony could be used against him during his court proceedings. All three are from the Wausau area.
A fourth person was also suspected but charges against them were cleared as the investigation progressed.
