(Bob Hague, Wisconsin Radio Network) Governor Evers releases the Healthcare Workforce report.
According to Bob Hague with the Wisconsin Radio Network, a task force put together by the governor has released its recommendations on how to address challenges facing the healthcare workforce.
Lieutenant Governor Sarah Rodriguez says one of those recommendations is to include ways to increase grant funding to employers so they can better retain and recruit staff.
Other recommendations include adopting Medicaid expansion, increasing rates for home and community-based services, and helping healthcare workers navigate insurance benefit options.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Wisconsin faces a potential deficit of up to 19,000 registered nurses by 2040.
