(Chris Conley, WSAU) A former coach of the D.C. Everest dance team appeared in Marathon County court on Thursday.
According to Chris Conley with WSAU, Alexandria Villiard is accused of theft in a business setting. The dance team’s account has a $12,000 deficit. A judge ruled there is enough evidence for the case to proceed to trial.
Villiard entered a ‘not guilty’ plea and is due back in court on October 1st. She has since resigned as dance team coach. Villiard is accused of co-mingled dance team funds with her personal accounts.
An investigation from last spring says money from dance clinics went into her personal Venmo account. She is also accused of selling dance team costumes for a waterski team without permission.
The $700 from the sale was not accounted for. Villiard told investigators that the shortfall in the dance team account was because of over-spending.
