Jackson County Sheriff's Department Participating in Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign
Monday, August 19th, 2024 -- 9:00 AM
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department will be participating in the upcoming Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign.
The campaign began on Friday and runs through Labor Day, September 2nd. Last year in Wisconsin, there were 6,058 alcohol-related crashes in that state that injured 2,918 people and resulted in 140 deaths, which is about one quarter of all traffic fatalities last year. While alcohol-impaired drivers remain a concern, a growing problem involves drug-impaired drivers.
Drivers can help law enforcement by buckling up, falling the speed limit, and eliminating distraction. If you are going to drink, pick a designated driver. If you suspect a driver is impaired, dial 911.
