(Mike Leischner, WSAU) A man who was in the United States illegally is said to have raped a woman he met on an online dating app, according to a criminal complaint.
According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Mohammad Alsayouri is charged with three counts of second-degree sexual assault. According to the victim, the pair met on a dating app for Muslims called Muzz.
Eventually, the two entered an “Islamic Marriage Contract,” but no legal marriage documents had been filed in any state. The 36-year-old is then accused of forcing himself on the victim on at least four occasions, including one incident in Tennessee and three in Wausau.
In one incident, Alsayouri is said to have told her “in Islam, you can’t rape your wife,” when she told him she didn’t want to have sex. In a second incident he allegedly told her “Well then, I’ll rape you,” and strangled her during the intercourse after she told him no.
Alsayouri allegedly told the victim he was single, but she later learned that he had a wife and child in Jordan. She also found additional messages on his phone indicating he may have been attempting to marry a woman in Canada.
Police arrested him at the Central Wisconsin Airport as he was waiting for the ticket counters to open. Officers add that Alsayouri has a court date scheduled for November in Arizona, which is where he illegally crossed the USA-Mexico border.
He is currently jailed on a half-million dollar bond and will return to court in Marathon County on Friday, August 16th.
