Local Road Projects to Receive Funds From the State and Federal Level

Gov. Tony Evers, along with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) announced approximately $174 million in state funding will help local communities across the state complete more than 1,000 local road improvement projects over the next five years.
The news comes as Gov. Evers also announced about $200 million from the Biden-Harris Administration’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that will support more than 150 projects to improve local roads and bridges across Wisconsin.
Some local projects will receive funds including Central Avenue in the City of Greenwood. The total cost of the project is estimated at $1,453,000 and the City will receive $726,500.
East Street in the City of Colby was also selected. The total cost of that project is estimated to be $1,528,000 and the City will receive $764,000. Badger Avenue in the Town of Lynn in Clark County was also selected. The total cost of the project is estimated at $950,000 and the Town will receive $472,150.
Colonial Avenue in the Town of Colby was also selected. The total cost of the project is estimated at $612,337. The Town will receive $428,635.90. County Highway G in Clark County was selected. The total cost of the project is estimated at $375,000 and the County will receive $117,340.33.
County Highway M in Clark County was selected. The total estimated cost of the project is $802,000 and the County will receive $335,446.27. Lincoln Street in the City of Wisconsin Rapids was selected. The total cost of the project is estimated to be $468,000 and the City will receive $234,000.
1,003 projects were selected to receive funding through WisDOT’s Local Roads Improvement Program (LRIP) based on recommendations from county, municipal, and town officials who determine which roads have the greatest need for improvement in their communities.
