State Health Provider Gains National Attention

(Bob Hague, Wisconsin Radio Network) A state health provider gains national attention.
According to Bob Hague with Wisconsin Radio Network, data from the US Department of Health and Human Services shows UW Health’s Lung Transplant Program has the nation’s highest one-year survival rate.
The numbers show that the probability of UW Health lung transplant recipients surviving one year after a transplant is around 95%, which surpasses the national average rate of just over 88%.
In addition, the average wait time for a lung transplant with UW Health is 12 days. That’s compared to the national average time of a month.
