The Highground's Annual Ride to Remember Happening August 17th

Monday, July 29th, 2024 -- 9:00 AM

On Saturday, August 17, motorcyclists will come together at the Neillsville American Legion Post 73 for The Highground’s 24th Annual Ride to Remember® as a celebration of honor and valor.

Veterans and veteran supporters will enjoy riding through Clark County’s scenic countryside to help raise funds for The Highground. Highlights of the event include three rides led by experienced motorcyclists, live music by the band Hillbilly Fever starting at 10:30am, a sizeable basket raffle coordinated by Sue and Mary Kokosz (the “Basket Babes"), 50/50 raffles and vendors.

The public is welcome to take part in the raffles at the legion and the event ceremony at the park. Registration begins at 9am at the American Legion in Neillsville (6 Boon Blvd Neillsville, WI 54456). Attendees can join any of the three rides offered that day.

  • Ride 1 will be from 10-11am and led by Rolling Thunder Inc WI Chapter 2;
  • Ride 2 will be from 12-2pm and led by VFW Riders District 7;
  • And Ride 3 will be from 1-2pm and led by CVMA 45-6.

At 2:45pm, all the riders are invited to take the final ride of the day. Leaving the American Legion, they will make their way through Neillsville and out to The Highground. This ride is to remember all the fallen brothers and sisters who served their country.

The ceremony will start at 3pm where 100 KIA names will be read in remembrance of those who served their country. The Highground is a serene Veterans Park located in Central Wisconsin that offers a place of reflection and hope for many veterans and their families.

Through social programs and restorative retreats, The Highground provides veterans and their families with opportunities to build healthy, trusted relationships and develop coping skills to help them overcome the unseen wounds of service.

Events like this help fund The Highground’s daily operations and their crucial veterans programs. The Highground is tremendously grateful for this year’s supporters:
