Get Rid of Standing Water in Your Yard to Help Combat Mosquitos

According to Bob Hague with Wisconsin Radio Network, that’s the message from UW Extension entomologist PJ Liesch, who says it doesn’t take much to give mosquitos a place to reproduce. Things like kids toys, a low lying spot in a tarp or clogged gutter that holds water could be a breeding site for mosquitoes.

Even something as small as a soda bottle cap could be enough water for some species. If you’ve got a bird bath, be sure to change the water regularly and get a pump to keep it circulating.
