Black River Falls Man Sentenced for Damaging a Black River Falls Elementary School

(WEAU Staff, WEAU) A teen is sentenced for vandalizing an elementary school in Jackson County.
According to WEAU staff, online court records show 19-year-old Bruce Redbird of Black River Falls is found guilty due to no contest plea of criminal damage to property (over $2500.)
Online court records also show Redbird is sentenced to 3 years probation and will have to serve 6 months of jail time as a condition of the probation. Redbird is accused of causing over $1 million in damages to Forrest Street Elementary School in Black River Falls on Aug. 10, 2022.
The damage done to the school delayed use of the building for several weeks while the Black River Falls School District worked to clean up the damage. The building was undergoing renovations at the time of the vandalism.
According to court documents, the total amount of damage done, as well as the cost of cleanup, totaled $1,199,715.15.
