2024-25 Clark County Fairest of the Fair Candidates: Ella Raatz

The Clark County Fairest of the Fair competition is just a few weeks away.

The crowning of the Fairest of the Fair is happening Wednesday, August 7th at 7pm in Dairy Show Arena at the Clark County Fairgrounds. I had an opportunity to speak with all seven candidates vying for the position including Ella Raatz sponsored by Colby Ace Hardware.

She will be a Senior at Colby High School. She’s involved in the Colby FFA, Maplewood Badgers 4-H Club, Clark County Wisconsin National Junior Holstein Association and the Wisconsin Guernsey and Jersey Association. Ella discussed why she decided to run for Fairest of the Fair.

"I think there's a few different things that made me run. Devani reached out to me and said, 'hey, you should run!' So, I had it planned out in my future, but I realized, 'hey, this would be a good opportunity for me now' and I think it would really help more in my future, especially if I run now. And I think, if I would get selected, it will help me grow and continue my leadership skills."

Again, the 2024-25 Clark County Fairest of the Fair will be crowned Wednesday, August 7th at 7pm in the Dairy Show Arena at the Clark County Fairgrounds. We’ll hear from another candidate tomorrow.

Outgoing Fairest of the Fair Devani Hinkleman offered some advice for this year’s candidates: “Honestly, something I wish I would have known more before I went into is how important it is to actually soak up those moments and every event you go to, just take it in. Because this year has, honestly, flown by way faster than I thought it was going to. And it’s just something that you just need to take that time, soak it in, and enjoy every moment.”
