2024-25 Clark County Fairest of the Fair Candidates: Amanda Durrestein

The Clark County Fairest of the Fair competition is just a few weeks away.

The crowning of the Fairest of the Fair is happening Wednesday, August 7th at 7pm in Dairy Show Arena at the Clark County Fairgrounds. I had an opportunity to speak with all seven candidates vying for the position including Amanda Durrestein sponsored by K&S Logistics.

Amanda will be starting her first year in the Vet Tech Program at Penn Foster Online University. In high school, Amanda was involved in FFA, 4-H, Band, Choir, Drama, and Forensics.

At UW-River Falls, she was active in the UW-River Falls Horsemanship Association before she transferred to do Vet Tech. Amanda discussed why she decided to run for Fairest of the Fair.

"So, I decided to run for Fairest of the Fair as I enjoy encouraging younger kids to be out in the community and try new things. If I am selected, I would like to possibly try getting events put together meant for the younger kids, so that way they get to learn about the Fair and opportunities that the community provides for them."

Again, the 2024-25 Clark County Fairest of the Fair will be crowned Wednesday, August 7th at 7pm in the Dairy Show Arena at the Clark County Fairgrounds. We’ll hear from another candidate tomorrow.

Outgoing Fairest of the Fair Devani Hinkleman offered some advice for this year’s candidates: “Honestly, something I wish I would have known more before I went into is how important it is to actually soak up those moments and every event you go to, just take it in. Because this year has, honestly, flown by way faster than I thought it was going to. And it’s just something that you just need to take that time, soak it in, and enjoy every moment.”
